“🚨 PACK THE COURTS FOR YUNSEO CHUNG 🚨 Yunseo Chung is a 21-year old student at Columbia University. She immigrated to the US from South Korea when she was 7, and is a legal permanent resident. Last year, she joined millions worldwide protesting in solidarity with Palestine. Now, Trump and ICE are trying to deport her. Yunseo’s deportation has been blocked by a judge until her next hearing on May 29. It is crucial that our movement come to the defense of Yunseo and other students targeted by the Trump administration for their support of Palestine.
As one small part of our efforts to support Yunseo, we invite you to submit letters of support addressed to Yunseo and her family. This action is being undertaken with the consultation and consent of Yunseo’s legal team. On May 29, the Southern District of NY district court will hold a hearing in Yunseo’s case to consider whether to issue an order that she should not be detained while her federal litigation case is ongoing.
For people in the NYC tri-state area, let’s pack the courthouse for her hearing on May 29 at 12:00 PM: Foley Square, New York, NY 10013. Please note the court will require storing electronic devices during the hearing. Let’s all spread the word about her case and contact Congressional reps to urge them to protect Yunseo, in addition to showing up for her next hearing to support her bid against detention.”
