“The Northwest Bronx Community & Clergy Coalition believes that the people of the Bronx must own and govern the redevelopment of Armory. Our community must share in wealth generated by the project and make decisions collectively to support our health and well-being. New York City and State have committed $200 million to the Armory’s redevelopment. But the project will only be successful if it invests in the workers and community that will ensure that success through:
• Community Ownership—options for direct investment or community funds
• Good Jobs with Benefits—paying a living wage — Union Jobs!
• Shared Wealth Building—projects inside the armory should support building shared wealth
• Collective Governance—the community voice should be engaged in decision-making around resources, programming and benefits”
