“Join us for a rally outside Assemblymember Judy Griffin’s office to urge her to fight for clean and affordable energy by co-sponsoring and helping pass the NY HEAT Act. With the state budget finally done, Albany lawmakers must prioritize passing the NY HEAT Act in the waning weeks of the legislative session. New Yorkers are being crushed by unaffordable utility bills, and the NY HEAT Act is the solution we need — but Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie and legislative leadership are dragging their feet to put it to a vote. The Senate has passed NY HEAT two years in a row. The Assembly must stop siding with fossil fuel interests and get it done this year!
The NY HEAT Act is our top climate priority, with its promise of lower energy bills while eliminating massive subsidies to the fracked gas industry.
