In the wake of nearly 500 men being displaced from the Jefferson shelter in under a week and the near closure of Randall’s Island, we have had to scale up our operations drastically—going from serving two days a week to operating seven days a week, nearly around the clock. With the looming threat of ICE raids and New York no longer functioning as a true sanctuary state, the needs of our community have surged beyond anything we’ve seen before. In response, we are working on major initiatives to ensure long-term financial sustainability so that we can continue expanding our services and supporting even more people.
