“On Friday, ICE arrested Newark, N.J. mayor Ras Baraka outside a privately owned and operated detention center. He was with three New Jersey congresspeople who were there to inspect the facility in their official capacities. The congressional group never got to take its tour as ICE diverted its efforts to Baraka, who was released later the same day. This action has been called to denounce Baraka’s illegal arrest and detention.”
