🗓️ Friday, May 30th, at 7:00 PM EST
📍 South Prospect Park, near the Abraham Lincoln Statue, enter at Ocean Ave. and Lincoln Rd.

“Join Rasanbleman Pou Ayiti x cinemóvil for a summer of Haitian Cinema! The last Friday of every month we will be screening a Haitian film in South Prospect Park. Screenings may be accompanied with political education, presentations, Know Your Rights Trainings, and more. The films screen will vary from feature length fiction, documentaries, and short films. All films will be political and will serve to develop our community’s understanding of current Haitian politics and Haitian history.
Our first screening of the Cinema Angaje series will be Freda (dir. Gessica Généus, 2021). Freda is one of the most powerful works of Haitian cinema produced in recent years. Its feminist and leftist politics offer a radically critical insight into contemporary Haitian issues ranging from migration, classism, gang violence, colorism, corruption, foreign intervention, and so much more. We hope to catch you outside with RPA and cinemóvil as we launch our summer program with this powerful and timely film. The screening will on Friday, May 30th, at 7:00 PM EST near the Abraham Lincoln Statue, enter at Ocean Ave. and Lincoln Rd. RSVP [below].”
